You do that, Dave, and I'll stop voting the dead in the Chicago cemeteries.

Thanks, everyone, but really, this award is for all of us. Best *forum* means everyone wins!

Whoo hoo! Well done!

Now you have a sexy new box to declare to everyone what we all already know - you're the best :)

Wow!
I just got back into town and online, and the first thing I see is this beautiful piece of bling for the sidebar? I love it!

Why, there were so many sparklies, I was almost - ALMOST - too blind to read rachelcapps priceless comment. ;)

Um, *insert cough here* sexy new box? :0 How's that working out for you, Theresa?

Gee, I didn't know they'd developed techniques for transplanting those.

LOL The bling was so bright I did miss the sexy new box comment the first time through. But I caught it in Murphy's comment. :D

So, does having a sexy box help you write a blog? Maybe that's why you're the best. We love this forum. Keep it up and THANK YOU!

Murphy says:

Transplanting? Who said anything about transplanting? Ick! (insert disappointed head shake) I was thinking kegels.

Leona says:

Murphy says:

Dunno about a blog. But I bet it helps in the DH depart. (insert me laughing my ass off here. Leona, forget the original comment - YOU are priceless!) ;)

Murphy: I was thinking kegels.

Dave: Um, gee, usually 'restored' is not considered equal to 'new', although it certainly can be just as good. Maybe we need some clarification from Rachel or Theresa. >;-)

Sheesh! Spoken like a true man. So, I'll reason with you like one. Think - brand new Mustang GT 500 vs a RESTORED 1969 Shelby GT 500. In which case, the restoration value far surpasses the NEW in value. So, I rest my case. Just as good! My ass! Original is always better...at least that’s the point I drive home to my honey. (hehehe)

Dave Shaw said...

Ah, Murphy, as good as or better than are irrelevant in this case, as the word used was 'new'. I understand the point of your twisting in the breeze here, but ultimately, you're avoiding the issue of how the, uh, new item is - installed, shall we say?

LOL

Word verification: noundip - must mean the really juicy adjectives, eh?

Dave Shaw said...

Oh, P.S. - The '67 Shelby is much more desirable than the '69, and I personally prefer the GT 350 - much better balanced.

Riley Murphy said...

Okay, Dave, brass tacks here. Question: say your wife loses 20 pounds and she asks in a flirtatious, come hither kind of a voice: "Davie, how do you like the new me?" Do you answer: "It's not the NEW you, it's the reconditioned you? You'll never be new whatever you do to yourself?"

Oh, yeah, I’m twisting in the wind here - I’m doing a jig! Answer the question. ;)

And I'm wondering...as for the Shelby? I chose the year shortly after I was born - dad bought one to honor the occasion. I hadn't thought that maybe you'd done the same thing. What was your occasion? Your graduation? Marriage? Excuse my ignorance of being, well, just born - and I’ll excuse you - because there’s no accounting for taste, right? 350 over the 500? Laughable! As to how your 350 handled? I have no idea...I was in a crib at that time. :D

Congratulations! And thank you for the shout-out to the commenters who make this a forum, but it's you and Alicia that have made this a home comfortable enough for all of us to crash in. :)

And speaking of feeling comfortable and right at home - do I need to separate you two, Murphy and Dave? :) Timeouts in different corners or something? All I know is that I am *so* not touching that conversation, as I already obliviously blundered into that whole double meaning thing at my job (several careers ago) and I'm not going there again. LOL!

Dave Shaw said...

Jami: The way Murphy latches on, I doubt that you could separate us, but you're welcome to try.

Murphy: My wife knows me, so she would never say that in the first place. On the Shelby issue, the '69 body style was big, heavy, and hard to see out of, and the big block engine put so much weight on the front wheels that it was only good for ruining rear tires. The '67 small block, on the other hand, was the perfect tool for destroying the egos of Chevy owners, especially on curvy roads. And no, I never owned one, nor was I old enough at the time. Pbbtt!

HURRAY! Congrats! This is a wonderful place and everyone should know it. :)
