What a game. Butler is for real. I would never have imagined after last year they'd do it again, but here they are, Final Four. They just find a way to win. Sometimes it's not playing a great game. :)

Our Promise to Authors
Every day we work with writers to shape their manuscripts for publication. We also evaluate submissions, read our friends’ pages, give second opinions to other editors -- in short, we confront a whole lot of manuscript pages for a whole lot of reasons. But here’s what we don’t do. We don’t -- and we never will -- pull examples directly from any of these manuscripts. The editor-author relationship depends on mutual trust and respect, and we won’t ever compromise that. We might get ideas for blog posts in the course of our interaction with writers and manuscripts, but all examples are ours, with the occasional exception of literary sources.

Butler is GREAT!!!
Go Bulldawgs! The village is going to be jumping tonight! I actually got to see about two minutes of the second half. Kills me that I can't watch the tournament this year. Next year, I'm taking off the end of March.

I'd like to say that I knew it all along, but every game, I say, "I don't think they'll win this one. They're too small. Just not quick enough."
And then they'll play, and they don't always play all that well. But they win. Someone should analyze this. Florida looked better the whole game, but they lost.

One thing about the NCAA tournament: The better team does not always win.
The team that plays with the most heart and hustle wins more often (but not always of course)

The little college that could. Butler loves to topple the giants.
In the last millenium I played football at Miami University. Yes, that's right, the original Miami. The one founded in 1803 and named after the Miami Indians and the Miami rivers in Ohio. Big Ten schools (actually the Big Two and the Little Eight) started scheduling us for their home openers so they'd have a gimme warm-up game. After we beat four of them, they dropped us from their schedules.
And then there's VCU. In a weird way, VCU is the most dangerous matchup for Butler, which (like VCU) does best against the complacent biggies.
Miami University is only a couple hours from here, Wes, and believe it or not, it's become rather chic. And I guess they have a good hockey team, because when I was in Canada, a waitress told me that her Canadian boyfriend had turned down York (a Can. school) for a scholarship to Miami.
