I doubt any of our readers are ignorant of these rules, but heck, maybe some day we can put these all together and sell the list as "The Secret!"
1. Double space the manuscript. Indent paragraphs. Do not extra-space between them.
2. Number your pages. The number usually goes in a header in the top right corner with your last name... Rasley/221
3. Put your contact info (name, address, phone, email) on a title page and also at the top of the first page of the manuscript.

Sounds basic, but I hear complaints from editors all the time that authors don't follow this stuff, so, I guess not quite as basic as it should be!
Many people don't do their research; some pay no attention to such 'minor details'; and a few honestly believe that not conforming to the rules will help their work to 'stand out'. "Never underestimate the power of human stupidity."
Editors get far more submissions than they have publishing slots... so part of reading the slushpile is looking for reasons to reject!
