Reader Jan made the mystery shortlist for the Amazon Breakout Novel Award. You can check out her entry and comment on it here:

From what I gather, they'll use comments to further narrow the field.
ETA: Reader Ian Thomas Healy is also a semi-finalist. His entry is here:

Everyone, go read and comment! Help out your fellow writers!
Anyone else out there make the cut?

Well, I did, with the "general fiction" book, but the mystery didn't make it. I think the mystery category had more submissions.
Congrats, Jan!
Alicia
*waving* I made it too with my entry Deep Six. Check it out here.
Woohoo!
Ian
Thanks so much for the exposure, Theresa!! I'm still in a bit of shock. I was celebrating with my writing partner this morning and showing her the ABNA website and the prizes. Found out that by reaching this stage, Ian and I have won a PW manuscript assessment that can be used for submissions. This will be the first time I've had a professional review of my work. I'm rapt! [as we say down here]
Good luck, Ian. I would do a rating, but for some reason the system won't let me rate anyone else's stuff. Does anyone know why?
Also, why are the tags so extensive on yours? Did you put them there or did someone else?
anyway, it's another milestone and I'm enjoying it very much.
Jan
Jan - I have no idea where those tags came from. Looking them over, I see I am associated with "A must read astral projection book", "Great book", "Good", "Good author", "Sex guide", "Kindle swindle", "Great gift book", "Intriguing and interesting", "Costa Rica", and "RPG". I'll admit Deep Six is a great, good book by a good author which would make a great gift, were it to be published. It is certainly intriguing and interesting, but I'm mystified as to the astral projection, sex guide, kindle swindle, Costa Rica, and RPG references.
Good luck to you!
Ian
Congrats, Jan. I read your short and loved it.
Congrats, Ian. Didn't know about yours when I was over there so I'll have to go back.
Hey, Alicia! I missed the first part of your comment the first time through. Oops!
Congrats to you, too.
I figured out why the rating thingie disappeared. I block javascript and had the one blocked for that feature to appear.
Patricia, thanks for that. I hope you did a rating. Very much appreciated.
