Happy Holidays!

We're going to be pretty tangled up in holiday events this week, so blogging time might be thin. I'll still be working some -- of course! -- and I do have a few post topics rolling around my head, but they might have to wait.

In the meantime, if you're on Goodreads, feel free to friend me. I created a separate shelf in my reading list for projects I've edited, so that will be an easy way for folks to track my acquisitions, if you're interested in that sort of thing. It's not set up yet -- that's a project for next week -- but eventually, I'll probably write mini-reviews explaining why I acquired each story, too.

But for now, I'm at that stage of the holidays when I'm wondering why we have to work this hard at having fun. That's the final stage of holiday prep before we transition into the actual fun part.

Happy Hanuchristakwanstice!

ps. Are you thinking about your New Year writing goals yet?

Well, since I don't have a single decoration up, a single present wrapped, a single cookie baked, etc., I am way behind schedule! :) Getting really sick the week before Christmas is only slightly less bad than being sick during Christmas (I've done that too, so I know). I'm ->this<- close to throwing my hands up, tossing everything into gift bags, and forgetting about even attempting anything else. :)

On the other hand, I already have my writing resolution for 2010 ready: 100 rejections in 2010! Yea! :) This will be the year for submitting, and not that I really want to receive rejections, but if I'm receiving rejections, at least that means that I've been putting my work out there and trying. :)

You go Jami G! I've done both (sick week before and Christmas) as well. I just finished a whole week of being barely able to talk. As I said in my blog, quiet in the peanut gallery. Yes Murphy, that means you :P

I did attempt to send out a few emails and I hope they made sense as I was also hallucinating from my fever!

For this year, my goal will be to complete four novels and edit my NaNoWriMo one and send the queries out. Now this may sound grand as I I only completed one this year. However, that was due to procrastination as well as life. Now assuming that my life doesn't become Pollyanna perfect the only thing to take out is procrastination.

I have one story that only needs about 15k to be finished, one that needs 30k, and a short I'm playing with to make long, and another short, same story. Plus, I have a gazillion ideas running around in my head.

When I put my mind to it, 55k+ isn't out of reach (and no I don't mean frantic don't fix things speed.) That's with editing other stuff.

If life happens, then 45k+ is acceptable to me. I'm always writing in my head, so its a matter of putting the words to paper.

That is my very minimum, absolute least that I'm going to accomplish.

No more procrastinating so I don't have to send out those queries. ** insert me nail biting here**

I'm thinking I'll have to go with Jami's 100 rejections or acception of my work for publishing as the final goal. That means that the books have to be finished and polished early, right?

And I like Theresa's

Hope you get to the fun part soon, Theresa. Jami and Leona, I hope you're feeling better and have a chance to enjoy the holidays.

Writing resolution? Get something done. No more, no less.

I intend to finish my current WIP by March. I'm going to start to submit soon after, but not aiming as high as 100 rejections. I'm thinking 50. LOL!

Has anyone heard from Murphy? I think she's MIA.Maybe she's sick too.:(

Hi kiddies!
I've been sick since the beginning of the month—which is the reason I've been (mostly) off the 'net.

Instead of a writing goal, I have a selling goal: Two a year. I'd probably be in over my head if I had to promote more than two books in a single year. :)

Have a great Christmas and New Year's Eve, everyone!

Special (germ-free) hugs to Theresa -

Hey Babs:

I'm here having a very interesting time in my neck of the woods. Not sick. Although, now that I think about it, I probably should have pulled the sick card to get time to see what you guys have been up to. So many posts, (insert my shoulders slumping here) but I'll manage to wade through them. Then I'll start thinking about writing goals. :D
