Modern Grammarian

Pretty cold, when I can look at a headline like:

Woman hit by stray bullet doing the dishes

 

And think, "That's a great dangling participle!"

    Yeah, and here's me, thinking that's one talented bullet! I didn't know they could wash dishes!

    I had the same thought as Susan. Maybe we all need therapy or something. Or maybe the world needs to stop dangling participles in front of us like that!

    With you there! I mean, murder is a crime, sure, but dangling a participle is a hanging offense. :)
