What a great concept. :) At first, I was worried because I couldn't picture my MC falling into any of those tidy categories you mentioned. Then I realized it was because she'd let her husband and son decide, and she'd go along with whatever they wanted. However... This isn't because she's a weak or passive person, but because she considers her family her chance for redemption, so she consciously puts them first, almost like her penance for her past mistakes.
